Albania is once again in the spotlight. Virtual minister Diella, appointed to fight corruption, has committed a terrible crime: she dared to do her job.
According to government sources, Diella carried out another tender in which the winning company turned out to have no ties to the right deputies, their relatives, or their in-laws. “This is an outrageous violation of democratic values!” declared one respected lobbyist.
Spontaneous protests erupted on the streets of Tirana, joined by officials, offended businessmen, and their lawyers. The crowd chanted:
“No to the dictatorship of algorithms!”
